Scotsman Carts have attracted a lot of attention since
I wrote this article. I'm very pleased to say all good.
Mini and pony owners from California,  Arizona, and
Washington are driving them now.

       COMFORTABLE PONY AND MINI CARTS

For many years my clients and friends have asked about
where they can get a cart like mine. They love the steel
wheels that never go flat and look great in the show ring or
parades. But mostly they love the torsion axles with their
smooth independent suspension.
I've finally found a partner that has over 30 years of
experience building hot rods and refurbishing classic cars.
He knows metal, how much stress it can take according to
what weight it is. His fabricating experience is
indispensable in this venture. He can build a very strong
yet light weight cart.
I want to build just a basic cart for minis and ponies up to
52". The torsion axles allow for independent suspension, if
one wheel goes up over a rock the cart won't tip drastically
as with a straight axle. They're also not overly springy as
many elliptical springs used on carts. We'll also be using a
high quality high density foam in our seats to give a much
smoother ride in combination with the torsion axle.
Tired of sliding across the seat? I tried a cart years ago
with Sunbrella covered seats it was great, no grabbing for
the sides when I went around a corner fast. We're offering
Sunbrella upholstered seats. This tough very water
resistant, rip-stop material is used for boat covers.

STEEL WHEELS
In designing our carts we planned on buying steel wheels
for the first few. After phone calls around the US we found
there isn't anyone that readily builds and sells steel wheels
for carts, buggies, wagons  We quickly decided if we are
building wheels for our own carts we will sell wheels.

Spring is Here!!!
Yippeeee! winter didn't last long but I'm
glad to see things starting to change. My
snow has been gone for 2 weeks and I
don't have any mud. I'm lucky that the soil
here drains and water runs off so mud I
never a problem. My horses are already
out munching on the first green starts of
grass.
This year will be a little busier for me since
starting Scotsman Carriage and Wheel. I'll
be taking the carts to the Mini Classic in
Colfax this May. I'm very excited about my
neighbors eleven year old son, Cole
Evans, will be driving my 4 year old mini
Bravo. He will be using one of our
Scotsman Carts to drive in the junior
shows in 2008.

    Pairs Driving Training
I finaly got a wagon to start driving my
pair of minis, Dealer and Spitfire. They
have been driven for years so driving them
as a pair didn't take a lot of work. I hope to
have them going for competition this
summer in combined driving events.
I can now offer driving training for
teams/pairs . I've driven them for years
and love the power of two and the energy it
takes to bring it all together as one unit.
The Buggy Lady and Scotsman Carriage will be at
the Mini Classic. Come see us
May 3 & 4, Colfax
Fairgrounds, 4 miles west of Colfax Wa. on Hiway
26. You can test drive one of our Scotsman Carts.!!
